Sioux Falls, SD - USF Soccer falls to Fort Hays State by a score of 2-0 on Friday afternoon at Bob Young Field.
The first half saw both teams exchanging field position with neither team finding the back of the net in the first 45 minutes of play. The Cougars played sound defense with
Caroline Titze saving all four shots from Fort Hays and the Cougars stopping three corner kicks in the first half of the match. It was in the 50th minute when Hanna Mares, assisted by Carly Walker broke open the tie, putting Fort Hays in the lead. The Tigers struck again in the 57th minute when Britney Arneson, assisted by Gracen Chaney put the Cougars down 2-0.

Caroline Titze faced 10 shots on the day and four saves.
Abby Whittington had the sole shot on goal for the Cougars and fell to a tough opponent in Fort Hays in the season opener by a score of 2-0. The Cougars are back in action on Sunday where they'll head to Claremore, OK to face Rogers State University with kickoff at 12 p.m.
