SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sioux Falls volleyball head coach Dan Mathews announced earlier this week the addition of Maura Chadwick as the Cougars next assistant coach.
"Maura brings three years of NSIC experience to our staff. She has learned from outstanding coaches, and I'm excited to integrate her knowledge with our system at USF," said Coach Mathews. "Most importantly, Maura is an ideal role model for our players. She will serve as a powerful example of leadership that our players can confidently follow."
Chadwick played three years at Simpson College where she was a three-year letter winner while also earning the Freshman of the Year award in 2015 and being named Academic All-Conference two out of her three seasons. Throughout her career at Simpson, Chadwick appeared in 47 matches accumulating 286 assists, 2.72 assists per set, 146 digs and 18 career kills.
"Volleyball in the NSIC is unlike anything else and to be a part of that at USF is a tremendous opportunity," stated Chadwick. "I am thoroughly excited to start working with the team and continue to build a tradition of success here at USF with Coach Mathews."
Following her collegiate career, Chadwick went on to become a graduate assistant and volunteer assistant at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. During her time with the Wolves, she assisted in floor defense and receiving serves while also finishing #8 in the AVCA Division II poll and helping the wolves earn their 2019 NSIC Conference Title. Chadwick then became the assistant coach at Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD where she planned practices and small group workouts while evaluating possible recruits.
Chadwick graduated Simpson College with her degree in athletic training and exercise science with a minor in coaching in 2019 followed by a masters in sport performance and leadership at Northern State University in 2021.
Before her time at Simpson College, Chadwick was a two-time all-state academic team member, two-year letter winner in basketball, a three-year letter winner in track and field and a member of the National Honor Society at Bemidji High School.
