SIOUX FALLS – The Cougars will get set to take on the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth for the annual Cougar Days Homecoming football game this Saturday. Kick-off is set for 1:00pm at Bob Young Field here in Sioux Falls with gates opening at 12:00pm.
The Cougars and Bulldogs have faced off four times since 2013 with the Coo coming out on top, 3-1. USF has outscored Duluth 102-73 in the last four match-ups while averaging 25.5 points per game. In their most recent match-up in October of 2019, USF ran away with a 34-3 victory over the Bulldogs.
USF enters this weekend with a 3-0 record and tied for first in the NSIC. The Coo will look to advance in the win column as they take on a 2-1 Minnesota Duluth squad. The Bulldogs have put up 69 points on the season while giving up 44. Sioux Falls sits atop of the leaderboard with 105 points on the season while only giving up 37 and averaging 35 points a game. With 1,530 yards on the season, USF has been averaging 510 yards per game.
Thuro Reisdorfer enters the weekend just 3 yards short of 9th all-time rushing yards at USF and ranked seventh in the country for rushing yards on the season. Reisdorfer collected his 13th 100+ yard game last weekend which puts him 4th in the record books. Landon Freeman and Adam Mullen are also slated to join the historical realms this weekend as Freeman inches closer to joining the 1,000 yard rushing club while Mullen approaches 3,000 passing yards.
