SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls men's basketball upset (RV) Northern State University tonight, 70-68.
WHAT HAPPENED
· Following tonight's match-up, the Cougars sit with a 13-4 overall record while leading the NSIC South Division with an 8-3 standing.
· The Cougars opened the game shooting 40.6% from the field and ending the half up 37-31.
SIOUX FALLS LEADERS
· Matt Cartwright picked up his third 30+ game tonight while going 12-13 from the free throw line and picking up a total of 31 points.
· Jack Thompson pulled down 10 rebounds followed by Zane Alm, Noah Puetz and Chase Grinde each with six of their own.
· Thompson handed out six assists on the evening while forcing one steal for the Cougars.
· Cartwright and Alm each tallied three of USFs 10 blocks on the night.
TEAM STATISTICS
· Sioux Falls went 26-66 from the field tonight while going 15-22 from the line.
· The Cougars picked up 12 points off their bench along with six points on the six NSU turnovers.
· USF led tonights game for just over 27 minutes with their largest lead of just eight points coming in the second half.
