SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Cougar Football will hit the road to take on Concordia –St. Paul this Saturday, October 7. The two will kickoff at 12pm at Sea Foam Stadium in St. Paul, Minnesota.
COUGARS v. GOLDEN BEARS HISTORY
Sioux Falls holds a 9-1 NCAA DII record over Golden Bears and a 14-2 overall record dating back to their first meeting in 1971.
During their last outing, Sioux Falls put up 44 points with 518 yards of total offense compared to CSPs 23 points and 411 yards of offense. The Cougars forced four rushing touchdowns on the Bears along with two through the air.
Within the Division II era, USF has forced 381 points against CSP and allotting just 167. The Coo are 4-1 on the road against the Bears and 1-1 during road contest so far this season.
THE COUGAR FILE
USF heads to the cities following a 49-29 homecoming loss to (RV) Augustana and currently sits 2-3 on the season.
The Coo continue to build momentum as Dylan Rudningen leads USF in rushing with 401 yards and six rushing touchdowns thus far followed by Camden Dean with 260 yards and five touchdowns. Matt Grzybowski is the teams third leading rusher with two touchdowns on the season while averaging 3.7 yards a carry.
Dean leads the team with 768 yards on the season while completing 74-of-101 passes. Dean has thrown four touchdown passes on the season followed by Mullen with two. Mullen has also recorded 235 yards on the season while completing 27-of-45 pass attempts.
Carter Slykhuis and Mark Leonard sit atop the receiving chart with Slykhuis totaling 331 yards on 31 receptions along with two touchdowns. Leonard has recorded 194 yards on 18 receptions thus far.
Eli Schlangen has recorded a team high of 28 tackles on the season followed by freshmen Matt Goehring with 25 and Garret Hoffman with 24.
Amaurii Grosskopf recorded two tackles for loss last weekend bringing his season total to five tackles for a loss of 20 yards and a sack. Brady Crawford follows close being with 3.0 tackles for loss and 1 sack on the season.
THE GOLDEN BEAR FILE
Concordia is coming off a 37-34 win over UMary last weekend and has been led by quarterback Conner Cordts, and running back Jaylin Richardson. Cordts has rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns this season while throwing for four touchdowns for 735 yards and completing 71-of-137 passes. Richardson has rushed for 422 yards and two touchdowns on 83 carriers while averaging 84.4 yards a game.
Drew Enke and Troy Ellison lead the receiving game for the Bears. Enke has recorded 13 receptions for 225 yards while Ellison tallies 23 receptions for 185 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Cyrus McClure leads CSP with 30 tackles, a pass break up and a forced fumble. The Viking defense has given up just 153 points this season, but have recorded 13 sacks for a loss of 95 yards along with 22 tackles for a loss of 118 yards.
