Rohnert Park, CA. – The University of Sioux Falls Men's Basketball team fell to Sonoma State 65-64. This game was a part of the Ron Logsdon Basketball Challenge.
The Coo got off to a good start in the first half. Shooting 48% from the field and 50% from 3. The usual tough defense from USF made the trip out to California as the Coo held Sonoma State to 39% shooting from the field and only 14% from 3. USF also held an advantage in the rebounding department 18-14. Creighton Morisch from USF had 9 first half rebounds. The Coo's largest lead of the half was 13 and had an advantage in assists 9-5. Jake Kettner of USF paced all scorers in the first half with 9 points.
The Cougars struggled offensively in the 2nd half. Shooting 27% from the field and going 1-12 from beyond the arc. Sonoma State stepped up the offense in the 2nd half to clip the Coo shooting 62% from the field and 80% from 3. They also outrebounded USF in the 2nd half 19-16 but the Coo won the rebounding margin overall 34-33. Sonoma State shot 50% for the game compared to 37% from USF.
LEADERS
Jack Thompson paced the Cougars in scoring with 13 points. Jake Kettner and Jack Cartwright added 10 points each,
Creighton Morisch led both teams in rebounding and was the only player in double figure rebounds with 11.
Jack Thompson tallied a game high 5 assists. Noah Puetz also added 3. Thompson played 38 minutes which led both teams.

The Cougars will be back in action tomorrow in Rohnert Park, CA. They will take on Stanislaus State in the Wolves Den starting at 6:00PM.
