SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Sioux Falls Women's Wrestling and head coach Toby Bryant are proud to announce the addition of four student-athletes to their 2024-25 roster.
"We are excited for the class of 2024 to partner with our inaugural season at USF," stated Bryant. "It is an exciting time for this region for women's wrestling. This class is the next building block to the transformational culture for not only USF but for the sport as a whole."
Giahna Miller, 170, Viborg-Hurley High School
Gia joins the Cougars from Viborg, South Dakota where she attended Viborg-Hurley High School. During her time as a Cougar, Gia competed in wrestling, cheer, volleyball, and softball. In 2021 Gia was named the MVP for the wrestling team. Gia was also a two-time runner up at the state wrestling tournament and
in 2023 was named to the Academic All-State Team for wrestling. The daughter of Amber and Randal, Gia plans to study nursing at USF.
Maizy Mathis, 165, Brookings High School
Maizy comes to USF from Brookings, South Dakota where she attended Brookings High School and competed in wrestling, volleyball, and track & field. For the Bobcats, Maizy was awarded Academic All-State in all three sports in 2021-20223. In 2023 she was voted the MVP of the wrestling team, and the Most Inspirational Player in 2022. Maizy was also named to the ESD All-Conference Team for wrestling in 2022 and 2023. The daughter of Terena and Brad, she is undecided in her course of study.
Addaly Pals-Miller, 155, MOC-Floyd Valley High School
Addaly joins the Cougars from Hospers, Iowa where she attended MOC-Floyd Valley High School. During her time with the Dutchman, Addaly competed in both wrestling and soccer. In wrestling she was a two-time state qualifier and placed second at regionals. Addaly is ranked ninth at 170, fourth at 155. The daughter of Kim and Brandon, she plans to major in criminal justice at USF.
Katrina Gibson, 155, Aberdeen Central High School
Katrina comes to USF from Aberdeen, South Dakota where she attended Aberdeen Central High School. During her time with the Eagles, Katrina competed in wrestling and competitive cheer. In her junior season Katrina was the SDHSAA State Champion for the 154 class in wrestling. She finished the year with a record of 35-8, with the most pins and wins on her team as a captain. The daughter of Amanda and Kevin, Katrina is undecided in her course of study.
