SIOUX FALLS – The Cougar football team is proud to announce the addition of seven student-athletes to their 2023 roster. Glogowski has added five transfers along with two freshman to his 2023 recruiting class bringing this class to 38 signees.
"We are very excited to announce this next group of committed student-athletes," stated Coach Glogowski. "This group continues to build on what we started with our initial class. Quality individuals that will help build our roster now and for the future."
Camden Dean, Quarterback, Lakeville, MN / Minnesota State UniversityÂ
Camden comes to Sioux Falls after playing one season at Minnesota State University. During his time with the Mavericks, Dean appeared in 11 quarters making two starts. He totaled 106 rushing yards along with two rushing touchdowns. He threw for 630 yards and six passing touchdowns. Dean attended Lakeville South High School where he helped lead his team to two Minnesota State Class 6A State Titles. He intends to major in business management at USF.
Aiden DeVolder, Offensive Line, Marshalltown, IA / Minnesota State University
Aiden comes to Sioux Falls after redshirting his freshman season at Minnesota State University. He attended Marshalltown High School where he played football, baseball, basketball and ran track for the Bobcats. DeVolder was awarded All-District his senior year and was a 4A Second Team All-State Offensive Lineman. He intends to major in business at USF.
Matt Goehring, Offensive Line, Sioux Falls, SD / Minnesota State University
Matt comes to Sioux Falls after redshirting his freshman season at Minnesota State University. He attended Roosevelt High School here in Sioux Falls where he competed in football, basketball and track for the Rough Riders. Goehring was awarded South Dakota Metro All-Conference and All-State as a linebacker as well as Academic All-State his senior year. He was also named to the Argus Leader ELITE 45 Team and was a South Dakota Defensive Player of the Year Nominee. Goehring intends to major in biology while at USF.
Lance Opp, Wide Receiver, Castle Pin, CO / Colorado State – Pueblo
Lance comes to Sioux Falls after spending two seasons at Colorado State University-Pueblo. In 2021, he played in 7 games and recorded 1 reception for 9 yards. Opp was awarded the CSUP Most Outstanding Wide Receiver Award in 2022 after playing in 4 games and recording 2 receptions for 4 yards. He attended Highlands Ranch High School where he played football, baseball and ran track for the Falcons. Opp was awarded First Team All-Conference and was an All-State Honorable Mention in football. He intends to complete an MBA degree at USF.
Preston Yohnke, Defensive Line, Carlos, MN / ND State College of Science
Preston joins his brother Travis Yohnke and the Cougars following two seasons with the Wildcats of North Dakota State College of Science. He was named to the MCAC All-Conference and All-District teams as well as an NJCAA All-American. Throughout his time at NDSCS, Yohnke played in 11 games producing 19 tackles with four sacks and 5.5 tackles for a loss of 22 yards. Prior to NDSCS, he played football, basketball, baseball and wrestling for the Parker's Prairie Panthers. Yohnke was a four year letter winner as well as the district defensive lineman of the year. He holds the record in career tackles for the Panthers. Preston is the son of Sandy Yohnke and plans to major in criminal justice.
Zach Steinhagen, Tight End, Lakeville, MN / Lakeville South High School
Zach joins the Cougars from Lakeville, Minnesota where he attended Lakeville South High School. He played football for the Cougars and was named to the All-District Team. During his high school career, he recorded 14 receptions for 246 yards and three touchdowns. Steinhagen intends to major in business while at the University of Sioux Falls.
Ben Gard, Defensive Line, Adel, IA / ADM High School
Ben joins the Cougars from Adel, Iowa where he attended Adel DeSoto Minburn High School. He competed in football and track for the Tigers. Gard was awarded First Team All-State and First Team All-District in football. He is undecided in his course of study at USF.
