MANDAN, N.D. – The University of Sioux Falls tennis team opened the weekend against the University of Mary Marauders falling 4-3 in a close NSIC matchup.
DOUBLES RESULTS
Talia Janos and Danielle Thorfinnson fell 6-1 tonight in their first NSIC pairing. The pair moves to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the NSIC.
Ella Hancock and Sydney Osburn teamed up to secure the Cougars only doubles win of the evening with a 6-4 victory. The pair is 3-4 on the season and 2-2 in NSIC play.
Alissa Thorfinnson and Jaelyn Haler fell 6-3 in the final doubles match of the night while moving to 0-3 on the season.
SINGLES RESULTS
Janos opened the singles portion of tonight's match falling 6-1, 6-2 to Chloe Chong.
D. Thorfinnson fell short in a 6-0, 6-1 defeat to Doaa Farouk Mohamed.
Osburn advances to 6-4 on the year with a 4-7, 7-5, 10-7 victory over Ilona Freitag. Osburn secured USFs first singles victory of the night.
Hancock fell to Hala Hossam Awad in a 6-2, 6-2 match. Hancock moves to 4-5 on the season.
Katelyn Nesheim picked up another victory for the Cougars with a 3-6, 6-2, 10-6 win over Emily Needham. Following tonight's win, Nesheim secured her fourth consecutive singles victory.
Emma Rangel rounded out the Cougars with a 7-5, 2-6, 10-7 victory over Samantha Purpura and picks up her second singles win of the season.
UP NEXT
The Cougars will take on MSU-Moorhead tomorrow afternoon with first serve scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
