Cougars Sweep Minnesota Crookston

April 1, 2023

Norfolk, NE. – The University of Sioux Falls Baseball team swept a doubleheader against Minnesota Crookston today. USF won game 1 4-3 and game 2 11-6

WHAT HAPPENED

·       USF was able to get the lead early scoring 1 run in the 2nd and 3 runs in the 3rd. The Coo never looked back on their way to a 4-3 win.   

·       In game 2, Crookston jumped out to a 3-1 lead after 3 innings. The Coo came back with 5 runs in the 8th and 3 runs in the 9th to win 11-6.

 

·        Caleb Ditmarson started game 2 and went 7 innings giving up only 3 runs.

 

SIOUX FALLS LEADERS

·        Dane Small and Brady Klehr led the Coo with 2 hits each in game 1. Grayson Skinner recorded 8 strikeouts in 5 and 2/3 innings pitched.

·       Noah Buss and Dane Small each had 3 hits in game 2 to lead USF.

·        Noah Buss also led the Cougars with 4 RBI in game 2.

UP NEXT

The Cougars will be back in action Sunday April 2! They will take on Minnesota Crookston in a single game starting at 1PM. This game is being played at Veterans Memorial Park in Norfolk, NE.
