Wayne, NE. – The University of Sioux Falls baseball team lost a game against Northern State today. Northern won 12-8 using a grand slam in the bottom of the 9th to win the game.
GAME ONE – L, 12-8
USF jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after scoring 2 runs in the 1st and adding another run in the 3rd.
Northern used back-to-back 3-run innings in the 5th and 6th innings to gain the lead before the Coo scored 2 more runs in the 9th to tie the game at 8.
Tyler Cate led the Cougars in hits with 3. Noah Christenson, Ben Serie, and Brady Klehr each added 2 hits. Noah Christenson led the team in RBI with 3.
Garrett Oswald came out of the Coo bullpen to throw 3 shutout innings. Only allowing 3 hits and recording 3 strikeouts.
UP NEXT
The Cougars will be back in action Saturday April 15. They take on St. Cloud State at Sioux Falls Stadium! Saturday's doubleheader will start at 1:30PM.
