LOUISVILLE, KY. – Following another outstanding season by fifth year outfielder Lexie Swift, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced that Swift was named to the 2023 DII Central Region Second Team.
Swift is one-of-204 student-athletes from 112 DII programs to receive this honor and one-of-eight NSIC athletes to be named to the All-Region squad.
Swift recently received NSIC All-Conference First Team honors for her performance in the outfield as well as at the plate. With an overall batting average of .388 and a .519 slugging percentage, Swift led the team with a .471 on-base percentage throughout all 50 games this season. Swift has crossed the plate 36 times for the Coo this season while recording 30 RBIs. In 160 at bats, she also led the team with 62 hits while tallying 16 doubles, one triple, one homerun and 25 walks. On the base path, Swift is 9-for-10 in stolen bases throughout the 2023 season. She holds a .951 fielding percentage with 74 putouts.
Wrapping up her career, Swift is a two-time all-conference selection as a first team member and defensive team member. She is a three-time D2 ADA Academic Achievement recipient as well as a three-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence member. Swift recently received the NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic award for her performance in the classroom. She was also a member of the USF Softball team when the team was named to the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete Team list.
