USF Softball Announces Bryce Bly as next Assistant Coach

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Recently named Cougar Softball head coach, Erin Bly, has announced the hiring of Bryce Bly as the programs next assistant coach.

Bryce Bly joins his daughter's staff after spending the past five seasons at Briar Cliff. Together Erin and Bryce teamed up to turn a 6-32 program into a 33-16 program over the course of their tenures. Bryce worked primarily with pitchers, catchers, and defense while also playing a key role in recruiting for the Chargers. This past season Bryce helped lead his pitching staff to be the 2nd ranked staff in the GPAC for overall pitching statistics while being ranked No. 1 in runs allowed, earned runs, strike outs, strikeouts per game and ERA. In result, Briar Cliff produced an All-GPAC pitcher as well as an All-Region pitcher.

While with the Chargers, Bryce has also helped produce six all-conference athletes this past season while helping the program become the No. 1 defense in the conference with a fielding percentage of .976. Together the Bly's achieved 17 individual top-10 season records, 12 individual top-10 career records and six all-time season records. The team also boasted a top-5 national ranking in the classroom for their academic performance.

Bryce joins USF with over 20 years of coaching experience from all levels of the game. Prior to coaching, he spent time in the mortgage and finance field after retaining a bachelor's degree from Augustana College in business administration and economics.
