Sioux Falls, SD – The University of Sioux Falls Soccer team opened their season with a 1-0 defeat to Rogers State University.
· Alix Tirado scored the only goal of the match in the 33rd minute. The goal was assisted by Morgan Martucci
· The Cougars outshot Rogers State 15-13. RSU had more shots on goal with 7 compared to USF's 6.
· Both USF and RSU had 6 saves on the evening. Caroline Titze in goal for the Cougars stopped 4 shots in the first half and 2 in the second.
· The Coo dominated in corner kicks with 10 while Rogers State only had 2.
· Brooklyn Schilmoeller for USF and Vanessa Gonzalez for RSU were shown Yellow Cards during the match.
This match moves the Cougars to 0-1-0 on the new season. The Coo will be back in action Friday September 8 in Hays, KS. They take on Fort Hays State at 6:00PM at FHSU Soccer Stadium.
