MARSHALL, MINN. - Cougar Soccer beat Southwest Minnesota State today 3-1.
USF's Abby Whittington got the scoring started in the 7th minute. SMSU equalized in the 67th minute when Dare Kroeten scored. The Cougars then tacked on two more to take the win as Lily Dahler put the Coo ahead off of an assist from Addison Van Zee in the 78th minute. Hannah Welch finished the game off for USF as she scored in the 85th minute off of an assist from Lily Dahler.
The Cougars had 8 total shots with 4 on goal and had 3 corner kicks.
Caroline Titze started in goal for USF. Titze recorded 12 saves while giving up one goal.
The Cougars committed 11 fouls compared to 9 from SMSU. There were no cards shown in this match.
The Coo will be back in action on Friday October 18. They will host Minnesota State at Bob Young Field starting at 7PM.
