Cougar Volleyball Sets Program Milestone With Three Consecutive Conference Tournament Appearances

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Cougar Volleyball will open the first round of the 2024 NSIC Conference Tournament at #2 St. Cloud State tonight at 6pm.

Sioux Falls earned the final spot in the in the NSIC Tournament as the 8th seed while hitting a program record of three consecutive conference tournament appearances. The Cougars hold a 10-8 conference record and a 15-11 overall record heading into tonights matchup. 

MATCHUP HISTORY
USF is 6-9 against SCSU dating back to their first match in 2012 when the Cougars took a 3-0 sweep over the Huskies. Earlier this season, The Coo fell to the Huskies 3-1 but out blocked St. Cloud 11-10 while landing six service aces. Sioux Falls is looking for their first win over St. Cloud since 2018.

ALL-CONFERENCE COUGARS
The Cougars landed two standouts on the NSIC All-Conference First Team announced last week.

Senior middle blocker, Jordan Kuper, picked up her fourth consecutive all-conference honor to cap off an outstanding career with The Coo. With a few more matches to play, the four-time all-conference selection set a USF career record in solo blocks and currently has 79 solo and 303 assisted blocks. This season, Kuper has boasted 22 solo blocks with 73 assisted along with 237 kills in 89 sets played while maintaining a .347 attacking percentage. 

Junior outside hitter, Sadie Voss, continues her success with her third consecutive all-conference honor. In 87 sets played, Voss has put down 289 kills on the season while maintaining a .254 attacking percentage. She also holds career season highs in service aces with 27 on the year and assists with 31. Defensively, Voss has recorded 272 digs along with 15 blocks. 

ON THE HUNT
Jordyn Hamm is on the hunt for a program record in service aces. Hamm currently sits 2nd all-time with 123 career aces and needs just three more to tie the program career record and one more to tie the program season record of 48. Jordan Kuper sits tied for 5th all-time in career kills with 968 and looks to crack into the top-5 following tonights match.
