Cougars Hold the Line but Can’t Shake the Marauders in 2-0 Showdown

BISMARCK, N.D. – The Cougars (2-14-1, 2-10-1 NSIC) faced off against the University of Mary (9-4-3, 7-3-3 NSIC) in a challenging road game at MDU Resources Community Bowl on Sunday, ultimately falling 2-0. 

Match Recap 

The Marauders struck first in the 34th minute, with Kendra Park scoring off an assist from Maddy Barnick. Sioux Falls answered with two shots on goal, including a close attempt by Mariah Siem, but Mary's goalkeeper, Molly Fischer, held the line. The second half saw a continued defensive stand from the Cougars, with goalkeeper Caroline Titze making critical saves. However, in the 83rd minute, Mary's Rio Spruenken added a second goal, assisted by Tara Young, securing the win for the Marauders.
