SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - USF Football is excited to announce their 11-game 2025 regular season football schedule following an impressive 8-3 comeback season.
"We're excited to build on the momentum from 2024 and kick off the year with a trip to the Black Hills," stated head coach Jim Glogowski. "It'll be a fantastic opportunity to experience the western side of the state and set the tone for a successful season ahead."Â
Sioux Falls will host five games at Bob Young Field next fall, all of which will be NSIC contests, and six road games with one non-conference matchup. The NSIC will be returning to the North and South division format with Jamestown joining the league, so the Cougars will host two non-division games while hitting the road for two. Each NSIC school will play cross-division games during Weeks 1-3. Â
The Cougars will kick their season off in Spearfish, South Dakota as they take on the Yellow Jackets of Black Hills State for the first time since 2011 on August 28th. The Week 0 matchup will mark the first of the home-and-home series for the two programs with BHSU making the trip to The Bob in the fall of 2026. USF is 7-4 in the last 11 matchups with Black Hills and is 12-20-1 in the series since 1927.Â
USF will host Northern State during their home opener on September 6th in a North vs South contest. The Cougars hold a 5-1 record over the Wolves while in the NCAA Division II era while coming off a 34-10 win this past season.Â
With a Week 2 road contest at Bemidji State on September 13th, the Cougars will look to snap a 3-game skid and bounce back following a close 28-24 loss last season.Â
Sioux Falls will return home on September 20th to host the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth for just the 8th time in program history. The Coo are 5-2 against the Bulldogs while boasting a home record of 4-0 including their most recent, 24-21, homecoming victory.Â
The Cougars will hit the road for a Week 4 contest at NCAA Semifinalist, Minnesota State. USF upset the #4 Mavericks, 40-36, in a Week 5 contest during the 2024 season. Â
USF will host Augustana for the 13th annual 'Key to the City' showdown on October 4th at Bob Young Field. The Week 5, crosstown rivalry will also mark the 2025 Cougar Days celebration.Â
Sioux Falls will head to Marshall, Minnesota to take on the Mustangs on October 11th before having a Week 7 bye. The Coo are 12-4 against the Mustangs with a 6-2 road record.Â
Following their bye week, the Cougars will head north for their final cross-division contest of the season against Minot State on October 25th. USF will look to respond following a tough 26-22 loss to the Beavers during their 2024 outing. The Coo hold a 10-2 record over the Beavers while maintaining a 4-1 road record.Â
The Cougars will host their first of a two-game home stand against Winona State on November 1st followed by their final home game of the regular season against Wayne State on November 8th. Â
USF will close out the year on the road as they take on Concordia-St. Paul on November 15th.Â
