ST. CLOUD, MINN. - Cougar Softball dropped to 16-25 on the season after falling 5-2 and 7-4 to St. Cloud State today.
GAME 1 - L, 5-2
SCSU scored first with 2-runs in the bottom of the first before USF answered with two of their own in the top of the second. Jayden Haley singled to score Taryn Wagner and Riley Schwisow doubled down the line to score Emma Barta for the Cougars final runs of the game.
Maddi Duncan threw a complete 6.0 inning game for USF with seven strikeouts in 29 batters faced with no walks in game one.
GAME 2 - L, 7-4
The Huskies jumped out to a 7-0 lead before the Coo responded with four runs in the top of the seventh.
With the bases loaded, Kenzie Raymond got USF started with a single to score Hannah Fry before Barta reached on a fielder's choice while Haley scored. Schwisow doubled again to score Rylee Riesberg and Barta before the Cougar's comeback was cut short.
Olivia Ott started in game two for USF facing seven batters before Kate Kotlarz came in to throw 3.2 innings and Campbell Petrick to close out the game with 1.2 innings.

Riesberg went 2-for-3 on the day with a double and a run

Schwisow went 4-for-8 with two doubles and three RBI with the lone stolen base for USF. Overall, she went 5-for-13 on the weekend with a homeruns, two doubles, two runs and seven RBI while going 3-for-3 in stolen bases and drawing two walks.
