SMITHVILLE, MO – The USF Women's Golf team played the first round of the NSIC Championship today and left the course in 7
th place.
The Coo went 51-over par for a score of 339 in the first round. Maggie Veenedall led the Coo with a 7-over par score that landed her in a tie for 13
th. USF will start day 2 just 6 strokes out of 6
th place.
Round 1 USF results:
Maggie Veenendall tied for 13
th with a score of 79 that had her 7-over par. She birdied hole 12 and carded 10 pars.
Abbie Ritzer tied for 33
rd on 14-over par shooting. Her 86 score featured a birdie on hole 9 and 6 pars.
Tanna Phares shot 15-over at 87 to tie for 36
th. She sank 6 pars on the day.
Bryn Huber went 18-over par at 90 to tie for 47
th. She also had 6 pars.
Ashley Tackett tied for 36
th on +15 shooting. Her 87 featured 4 pars.
The Coo will play a round per day over the next two days.
