SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Cougar Softball splits with the Warriors of Winona State during their Senior Day, Alumni Day and Mental Health Awareness event. USF took game one 1-0 before dropping game two 6-0.
GAME 1 - W, 1-0
Following a lights out performance by the Coo, Riley Schwisow crossed the plate in the bottom of the 4th off the bat of Megan Lawson.
Four Cougars had hits in game one led by Alannah Naumann, Schwisow, Lawson and Meghan Jochimsen.
Naumann and Schwisow recorded two stolen bases for Sioux Falls in game one.
Maddi Duncan threw her first complete game, no-hitter of the season, going 7.0 innings with five strikeouts in 24 batters faced and just two walks. She moves to 13-9 on the season in the circle.
GAME 2 - L, 6-0
Sioux Falls struggled to get the bats going in game two with just three hits behind Schwisow, Damaris Cuevas and Taryn Wagner.
Schwisow went 2-for-2 in stolen bases on the day for the Coo.
Kate Kotlarz picked up the start in game two before Campbell Petrick came in on relief. Petrick faced 15 batters forcing six flyouts and 1 ground out before southpaw pitcher, Olivia Ott came in to close the game out. Ott gave up just one run in 15 batters faced while recording three strikeouts in 4.0 innings pitched.
