BURNSVILLE, MN –
Maggie Veenendall was named to the All-Conference 1
st Team today in a release by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Veenendall led the Cougars in the majority of their tournaments this year and earned NSIC Golfer of the Week honors in October. The 5
th year senior was also named USF's Female Athlete of the Week in October. She had previously been named to the 1
st-Team in 2020-21 and 2021-22. Maggie is an elementary education and biology major from New Richmond, Wisconsin.
Head Coach Wade Merry on Maggie: "This is a great honor for Maggie. After missing an entire season because of injury, she came back and showed she is still one of the best golfers in our conference. I'm incredibly proud of her for the season she had and extremely grateful to the NSIC's Golf coaches for recognizing her."
Year highlights:
-Won USF invitational in October, shot a 3 under 69 in the second round to propel herself to the top. Her score was the best single round score of all participants at the tournament. Later earned Athlete of the Week honors for her performance by USF and the NSIC.
-Tied for 4
th at the Hardrocker Invitational and Newman Invitational
-Placed 10
th at the EverSpring Inn Mustang Invite
-Led USF to 3 straight 3
rd place finishes in the Fall
-Took 9
th at the Hillcat Classic
-Placed 16
th at the NSIC Championship
