St. Paul, Minn. - The University of Sioux Falls Baseball team fell in a single game today. Concordia-St. Paul defeated the Cougars 9-5.
Reese Gaber took the ball first for USF and threw 5.0 innings. He gave up 5 hits and 3 earned runs while recording 6 strikeouts. Mason Leonard came on in relief of Gaber and threw for 2.0 innings. He allowed 2 hits and 6 runs with 3 of those runs being earned. Derek Lundgren was the final Cougar pitcher used in the game. He threw a scoreless inning and did not give up a hit in the 3 batters he faced.
At the plate, the Cougars had 4 players have multiple hits for the game. Brady Klehr, Dane Small, David Swanson, and Mitch Iliff each had 2 hits. Klehr had 2 doubles and drove in 2 runs. Small and Iliff each scored a run and Swanson drove in a run as well. Tyler Cate, Ben Serie, and Ryan Gouldin each had 1 hit. Cate scored 2 runs and had 2 walks. Serie drove in a run and Gouldin scored a run. Overall, USF had 11 hits, 5 RBI, 4 walks, 3 strikeouts, and 9 left on base.

The Cougars will be back in action tomorrow. They will take on Concordia-St. Paul in a doubleheader beginning at 12:00pm at Reynolds Field.
