LIBERTY, MO. - Sioux Fall picked up a series split this afternoon as they defeated William Jewell, 3-1, before falling to Emporia State, 3-1, in day two of the Kansas City Classic.

Sioux Falls came out strong on their attack game landing 15 kills in the opening set against William Jewell. USF recorded no errors in set one while maintaining a .536 attacking percentage on 28 total attacks.
The Cougars struggled in set two but picked right back up in sets three and four to claim their first win of the 2024 season.
USF battled with the Hornets of Emporia State in match two of the day taking set three 26-24 but ultimately fell three sets to one moving to 1-2 on the season.
Sadie Voss had a solid outing with 33 kills on the day followed by freshman Abby Haus with 26 and Jordan Kuper with 21.
Liz Kopp landed five service aces on the day with four coming against William Jewell. Jordan Hamm joined in with five of her own while recording three in match one.
Kuper paved the way with nine blocks on the day while Haus put back six.
Elise Gillen dished out 52 assists between the two matches while Kopp added 35. Gillen also led The Coo with 24 digs on the day.
