SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls Volleyball team continued its strong NSIC campaign with an impressive 3-1 victory over Winona State (29-27, 25-11, 16-25, 25-17) tonight inside the Stewart Center.
With the win, the Cougars improved to 10-6 overall and 5-3 in NSIC play, while handing the Warriors their third conference loss.
Match Summary
The Cougars came out firing in front of their home crowd, grinding through a back-and-forth opening set before edging the Warriors 29-27 behind six kills from Sadie Voss and clutch late blocks from Ella Walker. Sioux Falls dominated the second frame, jumping to a quick 10-2 lead and cruising to a 25-11 win behind three service aces from Elise Gillen and a .440 team hitting percentage.
After a slow start in the third, USF regrouped to take control in the fourth, pulling away midway through the set with kills from Voss, Courtney Holsteen, and Tatum Godinez to close the match 25-17.

Sadie Voss led the way with 21 kills on .395 hitting, her first 20+ point outting this season, while adding 13 digs, and one ace for another double-double performance, her 8th of the season.

Courtney Holsteen tallied 11 kills and two block assists.

Ella Walker was dominant at the net with 8 kills and 5 total blocks.

Elise Gillen directed the attack with 27 assists, 11 digs, and a team-high 3 service aces.

Liz Kopp added 22 assists, 6 digs, and an ace, while Maci Lerseth chipped in 12 digs.
As a team, Sioux Falls hit .242 on the night with 59 kills, 7 aces, and 8 total blocks while holding Winona State to just .178 hitting.
