USF Volleyball Falls to #8 Concordia-St. Paul in Three

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls Volleyball team showed grit and energy in front of their home crowd this afternoon but ultimately fell 3-0 (16-25, 23-25, 16-25) to No. 8 Concordia-St. Paul inside the Stewart Center.

With the loss, the Cougars move to 10-7 overall and 5-4 in NSIC play, while the Golden Bears improved to 12-4 (8-1 NSIC).


Match Summary

USF opened with early leads in each of the first two sets, battling the nationally ranked Golden Bears point-for-point. The Cougars found their rhythm midway through the second frame, pulling ahead 21-20 before CSP rallied late with three straight points to take the set 25-23.

Despite the sweep, the Cougars held strong against one of the nation's top hitting teams—limiting Concordia to their second-lowest kill total in conference play—while showcasing balanced play across the front line.


Cougar Leaders

  • Sadie Voss paced the Cougars with 11 kills, three digs, and one block assist, hitting .258 on 31 swings.

  • Ella Walker was efficient with nine kills on a team-high .583 hitting percentage, adding a block assist.

  • Courtney Holsteen posted four kills and two blocks, while Kyleigh Tangen chipped in five kills and three digs.

  • Elise Gillen tallied 18 assists and three digs, while Liz Kopp added 13 assists and four digs.

  • Gretchen Volk anchored the back row with 10 digs, followed by Faith Van Eck with two digs and a service ace.

As a team, Sioux Falls hit .219 with 36 kills, 29 digs, five total blocks, and one ace while facing a Concordia-St. Paul attack that hit .385 for the match.
