ABERDEEN, S.D. – Sioux Falls battled throughout but couldn't find the equalizer on Friday night, falling 1-0 to Northern State at the Athletic & Recreation Fields.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wolves scored the game's only goal in the 19th minute when Lauren Carpenter found the back of the net for her first of the season. Despite the early setback, the Cougars settled in and generated strong stretches of possession, particularly in the second half where they pushed play deep into the attacking third.
Head coach Joe DeMay credited Northern State's style of play for disrupting USF's rhythm but also noted the adjustments made as the game went on. "For too many spells in the game that lasted too long, we got sucked into playing the style they wanted to play. That put us under a lot of unnecessary pressure we could have avoided and made the game much more difficult," said DeMay.
"When we were able to gain some traction and get away from playing too vertically too quickly we were able to get the ball into good attacking areas which led to some looks on goal," he added. "It's a disappointing result but we have to find a way to rebound quickly and get ready to go again on Sunday."
