LARCHWOOD, Iowa - Freshman Charlie Hanson once again led the charge, capturing the individual championship with a two-round total of 143 (-1). Hanson opened with a scorching 68 (-4) before closing with a steady 75 (+3) in the cold and rain to claim the title.

Hanson's win marks his second top-3 finish of the fall and continued a streak of top-tier performances that have made him one of the NSIC's most consistent golfers.

Team Performance

USF's top team delivered an opening-round 283 to sit near the top of the leaderboard, eventually finishing fourth overall at +29 (283-322--605)

USF "A" Team – 4th Place (283–322—605, +29)

Winona State took home the team title at +7 (283–301—583).

• Liam Dufner – 80–85 = 165 (+21) – t-57th

• Ryan Nutter – 78–87 = 165 (+21) – t-57th

• Gabe Norberg – 86–80 = 166 (+22) – t-60th

• Lane Arends – 80–89 = 169 (+25) – 65th

USF "C" Team – 13th Place (323–356—679, +103)

• Deven Sehr – 72–82 = 154 (+10) – t-28th

• Jack Kray – 74–92 = 166 (+22) – t-60th

• Devon Verhasselt – 87–90 = 177 (+33) – t-68th

• Mats Lund – 90–92 = 182 (+38) – 70th

Coach's Corner

"I am so happy for Charlie. This is really a big win for him because every conference team was here. He has shown he is one of the top players in the NSIC," said Head Coach Wade Merry.
"We played extremely well on Monday, being just one shot back of Winona State, which has separated itself from the rest of the conference. Tuesday's weather was brutal, so it comes down to who is the best mentally, because you know that scoring is going to be tough. I was disappointed because we didn't respond the way we should. But, we will hopefully learn from it and be an even better team."

Up Next

The Cougars will close out their fall campaign at the Tulsa Cup at The Club at Indian Springs October 27-28 before turning attention toward winter preparation and the spring schedule, which will begin in March 2026.
