SIOUX CENTER, IOWA - The University of Sioux Falls Softball team went 1-1 in today's doubleheader at the ASB Dome, securing a 4-3 victory over Concordia (NE) before narrowly falling 4-3 to Dordt. 

Game 1: USF v CONCORDIA – W, 4-3 

Concordia scored first but Sioux Falls answered in the bottom of the first before shuting out the Bulldogs the next four innings. USF scored runs in the first, second, and fourth innings while holding off a late push by Concordia. Maddi Duncan was outstanding in the circle, going the full seven innings, allowing just five hits while striking out eight to earn the complete-game win and recording her 20th career complete game for The Coo.

• Maddi Duncan (W, 1-1): 7.0 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 8 K 

• Kyra Knudtson: 1-for-3, RBI triple 

• Taryn Wagner: 1-for-2, triple, 2 runs 

• Savanna Isaacson: 1-for-2, RBI single 

Game 2: USF v DORDT – L, 4-3 

Despite jumping out to a 2-1 lead in the first inning, the Cougars fell just short against the Defenders. A two-run triple in the fourth inning gave Dordt the lead, and USF was unable to respond late. Meghan Jochimsen had a strong game at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base.

• Alannah Naumann: 2-for-4, 2 stolen bases, 1 run 

• Lauryn Foudree: 2.0 IP, 1 ER, 2 K

The Cougars (1-3) will look to build on the year as they head to Florida for an 18-game series at the end of February.
