Schneider Captures Second NSIC Crown as USF Swimming Closes Day Two of NSIC Championships

WEST FARGO, N.D. – The University of Sioux Falls Swimming team built on their momentum with another stellar performance on the second day of the 2025 NSIC Women's Swim & Dive Championships at the Hulbert Aquatic Center. With an event champion in Phini Schneider and two more all-conference performances, the Cougars sit in  fourth place with 296-points.

Leading the way for USF was Phini Schneider, who secured an all-conference podium finish in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking an NCAA 'B' cut time of 55.95 to claim a second career crown in the event along with a fourth career all-conference honor. Teammate Inn She Yap also had a strong showing, finishing seventh with a time of 57.47.

In the 400-yard individual medley, Emily Aten delivered a strong performance, finishing fourth with a time of 4:33.10. Teammate Irene Paris dominated the B-final, winning her heat and placing ninth overall with a time of 4:30.81.

USF also found success in the 200-yard freestyle, with Charlotte Gibbs securing a third-place finish with a time of 1:52.80, earning an NCAA 'B' cut and her first all-conference honor. Alessia Moro contributed in the B-final, finishing ninth overall in 1:54.61.

The Cougar's relay squad continued to make an impact in the 400-yard medley relay team, consisting of Isabella Perkins, Inte Pas, Phini Schneider, and Charlotte Gibbs, placed third with a time of 3:48.08, just shy of all-conference recognition.

Sioux Falls will look to build on its strong start as competition continues tomorrow with key events, including the 100-yard backstroke, 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle followed by the 200-yard freestyle relay. Prelims will begin at 10am tomorrow with finals beginning at 5:30pm. Fans can follow live results and updates through the NSIC Championship website.
