BURNSVILLE, MINN. – University of Sioux Falls guard Ayla Brown has been named to the Shining 5 after delivering two stellar performances this past weekend, helping lead the Cougars to wins over Augustana and Minnesota Crookston.
Brown showcased her all-around game, averaging 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per contest while shooting 66.7% (6-of-9) from three-point range. She played a critical role in both matchups, displaying efficiency, playmaking, and clutch scoring.
Against Augustana, Brown poured in 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including a 4-of-6 mark from beyond the arc, while also adding 6 rebounds and 6 assists. She continued her strong play against Minnesota Crookston, recording a 14-point, 10-assist double-double, shooting 42.9% from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.
With her ability to impact the game in multiple ways, Brown's recognition on the Shining 5 is well-earned as she continues to be a key contributor for the Cougars. For more on the Shining 5, head over to the 2024-25 NSIC Women's Basketball Weekly Release No. 14.
