USF Women’s Golf Finishes Seventh at NSIC Preview

SMITHVILLE, MO. – The University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf team put together a solid performance at the NSIC Preview, finishing seventh out of 13 teams at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex. The Cougars posted identical rounds of 327 (+39) on both days to finish with a two-round total of 654 (+78), just 28 strokes behind the winning score. 

Tournament Recap 

Competing on a par-72 course spanning 5,950 yards, USF remained steady across both rounds. Despite challenging conditions, the team showcased its consistency, maintaining its position in the middle of the field. Maggie Veenendall led the way for the Cougars, securing a top-10 finish with a 156 (+12) across two rounds.

Key Coo 

Maggie Veenendall led the Cougars with a strong showing, finishing tied for eighth at 156 (+12). She shot 76 (+4) in round one and 80 (+8) in round two, collecting four birdies along the way. Tanna Phares also delivered a top-20 performance, tying for 20th at +18 overall, with two birdies across the tournament.

The Cougars will stay in Sioux Falls to participate in the Augustana Spring Invitational on April 7-8 at Elmwood Golf Course, looking to build on their performance at the NSIC Preview.
