ABERDEEN, S.D. – USF Softball (21-17, 9-7 NSIC) picked up their 20th win of the season with a gritty extra-innings victory over Northern State (8-29, 2-14 NSIC) in game one before capping off a weekend sweep in game two with a 5-0 win.
GAME ONE: SIOUX FALLS 6, NORTHERN STATE 3 (8 INN.)
After battling to a 2-2 tie through seven innings, USF broke through in extras with four runs in the eighth, fueled by clutch hitting and pressure on the basepaths. Lauryn Foudree closed the door in relief to earn her sixth win of the season.

USF capitalized on a critical Northern State error in the eighth inning while Fackler delivered the go-ahead hit, and Wagner added insurance with a sacrifice fly as the Cougars pulled away late.
GAME TWO: SIOUX FALLS 5, NORTHERN STATE 0
The Cougars capped off a dominant day in Aberdeen with a 5-0 shutout in game two against Northern State, riding a complete game gem from Maddi Duncan and clutch hitting.

Duncan tossed her sixth shutout of the season and 14th complete game, scattering just three hits while forcing 10 strikeouts. The Cougar defense backed her with error-free play and solid infield work.
