Kearney, Neb. – The University of Sioux Falls Volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision (21-25, 16-25, 10-25) to #8 Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday evening at the Health & Sports Center. The Cougars move to 3-2 on the year, while the nationally renowned Lopers improved to 6-0 on the season.

Match Summary

Sioux Falls battled point-for-point in the opening set, drawing even at 20-20 behind key kills from Sadie Voss and Courtney Holsteen, before UNK pulled away late for a 25-21 win. The Cougars continued to compete in the second, but the Lopers' balanced attack created separation midway through the frame. In the third, Nebraska-Kearney's efficiency at the net proved decisive as they secured the sweep.

Cougar Leaders

• Holsteen helped lead the Cougar offense with 8 kills, hitting .462, and added two blocks.

• Voss posted 9 kills and 3 digs to pace the attack.

• Elise Gillen distributed 16 assists, while also contributing 5 digs and an ace while partnering with Liz Kopp with 13 assists.

• Defensively, Maci Lerseth anchored the back row with 9 digs, while Ella Walker chipped in 3 blocks and Haley Wolfe 2

As a team, Sioux Falls tallied 33 kills, 29 digs, and 5 blocks against a Loper squad that hit .417 on the evening.
