Scouting the Cougars

USF opened the 2025 campaign with a 3-1 record at the Bahama House Classic in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Cougars collected wins over (RV) Flagler, Montevallo, and (RV)Embry-Riddle while pushing perennial power MSU Denver in a competitive four-set battle.

Several players stood out during the season-opening stretch:

  • Sadie Voss  – The three-time All-NSIC performer opened her final season in form, racking up 45 kills (2.81 per set) on a .223 hitting percentage. Voss added 51 points (3.19 per set), eight assists, and four service aces, showing her all-around ability as USF's offensive anchor and top point scorer.

  • Aubrey Gates – Gates delivered a breakout weekend, finishing with 46 kills (2.88 per set) on an efficient .318 hitting clip. She totaled 46.5 points (2.91 per set), establishing herself as a consistent attacking option alongside Voss.

  • Haley Wolfe – Wolfe made a huge impact on both ends of the floor, producing 34 kills (2.13 per set) on an eye-popping .443 hitting percentage. She also led the Cougar defense at the net with 21 total blocks (four solo, 17 assisted) and contributed 49.5 total points (3.09 per set).

Series Histories

  • #8 Nebraska-Kearney: USF is 0-2 all-time against the Lopers.

  • South Dakota Mines: USF holds a 4-1 series advantage.

  • Adams State: The Cougars lead the series 1-0.

  • (RV) Missouri-St. Louis: USF leads the series 1-0.

The Road Ahead

The Rosella Meier UNK Fall Classic provides another early-season measuring stick for USF, matching up against strong regional opponents, including nationally competitive Nebraska-Kearney. With a mix of veteran leadership and new contributors, the Cougars look to continue their momentum and sharpen their play before diving into NSIC conference action.
