USF Volleyball Earns Sweeps Over South Dakota Mines and Adams State

Kearney, Neb. – The University of Sioux Falls Volleyball team turned in a dominant performance tonight at the Rosella Meier UNK Fall Classic, sweeping both South Dakota Mines (3-0) and Adams State (3-0) to move to 5-2 on the season.


Match One: Cougars Roll Past Hardrockers

USF opened the day with a 25-20, 25-18, 25-22 victory over South Dakota Mines.

The Cougars hit .290 as a team while holding the Hardrockers to .191.


Match Two: Balanced Effort Downs Grizzlies

In the nightcap, Sioux Falls carried the momentum to a sweep of Adams State (25-22, 25-17, 25-19).

  • Voss paced the Cougars with 10 kills on 28 attacks with no errors for an attacking line of .357 and 3 service aces

  • Holsteen chipped in 6 kills and a block, while Ella Walker added 6 blocks at a .250 clip.

  • Gillen dished out 14 assists and served up two aces.
  • Defensively, Lerseth collected a team-high 10 digs
USF's efficiency showed with a .253 team hitting percentage compared to just .082 for Adams State

Sioux Falls wraps up its weekend in Kearney against (RV) Missouri-St. Louis at 10:30am tomorrow morning.
