HUDSON, Wis. – The Women's Golf team battled through a tough field and course setup at Troy Burne Golf Club, finishing 10th out of 14 teams at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl on September 15-16.
The Cougars posted team rounds of 323 and 332 for a two-day total of 655 (+87). Minnesota State won the event at 599 (+31), followed by Washburn in second (+41) and Winona State in third (+62).

Abbie Ritzer led the way for the Cougars, shooting rounds of 81 and 80 for a 161 (+19) to tie for 30th overall.

Sophia Karsnia opened with an 81 and closed at 164 (+22), tied for 40th.

Competing individually, Tanna Phares finished with a 165 (+23), tying for 43rd.

Gwen Latunski and Avery Nelson both carded 166 (+24), tying for 46th.

Bryn Huber added rounds of 85 and 84 for a 169 (+27), tied for 55th.
Coach's Corner
Head Coach Wade Merry reflected on the team's performance while emphasizing growth moving forward.
"We didn't play as well as we know we can, but it's early and we are trying to find our way a bit. But, we have quality kids who work hard and will get better as the season progresses."
Course Spotlight
Troy Burne Golf Club, a championship-caliber course in the St. Croix Valley, presented a significant challenge for the field. With more than 120 bunkers, water hazards on eight holes, and average scores over 82 strokes across the two days, the layout demanded precision and consistency.
