BURNSVILLE, MINN. – The University of Sioux Falls softball team has earned another conference honor, as Maddi Duncan has been named the NSIC Pitcher of the Week following a dominant weekend in conference play.
Duncan played a pivotal role in Sioux Falls' perfect 4-0 stretch to open NSIC action, delivering three standout performances in the circle. The senior went 2-0 with one save across three appearances, anchoring a pitching staff that allowed just one run throughout the weekend.
She opened the weekend with a historic outing against Minnesota Duluth, tossing a complete-game shutout while allowing just two hits and striking out 14 batters. Duncan followed that performance with another complete-game effort against Bemidji State, surrendering only five hits while striking out seven in a second shutout victory.
Duncan also contributed in relief, closing out game two against Minnesota Duluth with a scoreless save to secure the doubleheader sweep.
Across her three appearances, Duncan compiled 15.0 innings pitched, allowing no earned runs while striking out 22 batters. Opponents hit just .144 against her during the stretch.
On the season, Duncan has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the conference, currently leading the NSIC in ERA (0.24), innings pitched (29.0), strikeouts (48), wins (4), and saves (2). Overall, Duncan has accumulated an ERA of 1.28 across 109.1 innings pitched while racking up 158 strikeouts, 11 wins, and 2 saves.
This marks the third NSIC Pitcher of the Week honor for Duncan this season, previously earning the award on March 9 and again on March 23.
