Sioux Falls, S.D. – University of Sioux Falls senior pitcher Maddi Duncan has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced this afternoon.

Duncan earned the honor after a dominant performance during the Cougars' Spring Games trip in Florida, where she went 6-0 in the circle across six appearances and helped Sioux Falls build momentum heading into conference play.

Over the course of the week, Duncan compiled a 0.89 ERA across 40.2 innings, striking out 62 batters while allowing just four earned runs. The senior also recorded five complete games, consistently shutting down opposing offenses and providing stability at the front of the Cougar pitching staff.

One of the most memorable moments of the trip came during Sioux Falls' victory over No. 23 McKendree, when Duncan tossed a complete game while allowing just four hits and two runs with 11 strikeouts. The performance helped the Cougars secure their first ranked win since 2021.

During that same outing, Duncan also etched her name in the Cougar record books by recording the 381st strikeout of her career, becoming the all-time strikeout leader in University of Sioux Falls softball history. A record set by Amanda Walters in 2014.

Duncan's dominant week helped propel the Cougars through a strong showing at The Spring Games as Sioux Falls closed the trip with multiple key victories and continued to build momentum heading into NSIC competition.

Up Next

Sioux Falls  will head to the MIAA/NSIC Crossover next weekend to take on Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern before opening up NSIC play at Minnesota Crookston on March 21st.
