Biography

Career: Has 468 kills on 1,045 attacks in her three years of being a Cougar…her single season 131 blocks in 2016 ranked her first in USF Divsion II history single season blocks…has a career-high 14 kills, .750 hitting percentage, and 11 blocks in a single match against Augustana (10/14/14)… recorded 16 double figure kills.

2015 (JUNIOR): Appeared in all 29 matches and 114 sets… recorded 269 kills on 591 attacks… finished with a team leading .320 hitting percentage… recorded 16 double digit kill games… also ranked first on team in blocks with 131… ranked 30th in NCAA Division II for blocks per set at 1.15... ranked 33rd in NCAA Division II in total blocks...ranked third in NSIC in blocks… recorded a career high of 15 kills on 24 attacks(.583) and  nine block performance  vs. Spring Hill on Sep. 5… also recorded 15 kills vs. Winona St. on Nov. 7…  recorded a double-double vs. Southwest Minnesota on Oct. 20 with 11 kills and 10 blocks... named to the NSIC All-Academic Team

2014 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in all 31 matches and 120 sets…recorded 260 kills on 572 attacks and finished second on the team with a .310 hitting percentage…accumulated 13 double figure kills… also ranked first on the team in blocks with a total of 114… averaged 0.95 blocks per set… helped the Cougars to a five set victory and tallied a double-double with 10 kills and 11 blocks at Augustana (10/14/14)… reached a match high 14 kills on 29 attempts with a .345 hitting percentage against Montevallo in North Carolina (9/5)…had a season match high of eight digs defeating Minnesota Crookston (8/27).

2013 (FRESHMAN): Appeared in every match and 118 sets…made an immediate impact at the net, putting down a team-best 110 blocks (11 solo, 99 blocking assists)…her 110 blocks ranks 13th all-time on USF’s single season charts...one of five Cougars to average at least 1.5 kills per set (1.76)… ranked third on the team with a .283 hitting percentage… pounded 208 kills during her freshman campaign…recorded three double figure kills…chipped in 19 set assists and 10 aces…hit a career-best .667 twice in wins against Pfeiffer (9-1-12) and Upper Iowa (6-0-9)…also filled the stat sheet with five block assists, two set assists and a pair of aces in the Cougars’ sweep of the UIU Peacocks (10/11)…registered a career-high 10 kills three times against Missouri Western, Northwest Missouri State and Minnesota State (all USF victories)… had a near-miss of a double-double in the Cougars’ regular season finale at MSU Moorhead (11/16), as she notched eight kills and a career-best 11 blocks in a 3-2 victory that punched the Cougars’ ticket to their first-ever ticket to the NSIC Tournament.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year starter for coaches Michelle Goodall and Tim Johnson…led the Cougars in kills (297), kill efficiency (.327), kills per set (3.19), aces (45) and blocks (103) as a senior… first team Mississippi Division All-Conference, first team All-Metro, first team 5A District and Class 5A All State honorable mention accolades…tabbed honorable mention all-state, first team 4A District, first team All-Metro and second team Mississippi Division All-Conference as a junior…two-time Iowa High School state volleyball tournament participant…played softball for two years… played club volleyball for the Nike Six Pack and she and her teammates were crowned the 2011 17U AAU Volleyball National Champions…three-time selection (2010-12) to the USA Volleyball Iowa High Performance team…her 2011 Iowa Rockets Club team placed first at the AAU Volleyball Nationals in the 17U division as 16’s…2010 Iowa Rockets 15’s team placed 22nd at the USA Volleyball Nationals…graduated with academic honors with distinction.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Mike and Chris Calef…has a brother, Danny…volunteered with her church and participated with Kennedy’s community service group…professional goal is to find a job where she loves what she is doing and is helping others…favorite athlete is USA women’s national volleyball player Destinee Hooker…hobbies include reading, hanging out with friends and family and listening to music…has two different colored eyes.
