2014 (FRESHMAN):Â played in 10 games for 11-1 nationally ranked Cougars team...caught seven passes for 65 yards with a long of 33 yards...had one punt return for 11 yards...also had three kickoff returns for 41 yards, including a long of 28.
HIGH SCHOOL: Starred for state champion West Lyon High School football team in 2013, leading squad to 14-0 record...in 2013 state title game, had two catches for 41 yards in a 49-7 win over Brooklyn BGM...West Lyon went 46-7 in his career and also won state title 2010 when Groeneweg was a freshman...as a senior had 62 carries for 475 yards and 12 TDs with 18 receptions for 381 yards and six TDs...also had three interceptions and 21 tackles on defense...also a dynamic return specialist with seven kickoff returns for 178 yards and eight punt returns for 134 yards and a TD...during final three years had 213 carries for 1,325 yards with 17 TDs...during that time had 28 catches for 543 yards and eight TDs...also had 32 returns (punts or kickoffs) for 624 yards and a TD...also participated in basketball, track and baseball.
