Biography

2017-18: Played in nine and started nine games for Cougars, before shelved by injury...played early starting role for Cougars, which finished 20-10 overall, program-best at the DII level...averaged 14.1 ppg (127 points) and 5.0 rebounds (45 rebounds)...logged 284 minutes, or 31.6 per game...made 40-of-95 field goals for 42.1 percent...hit 6-of-20 from three-point range for 30 percent and 41-of-49 from the free throw line for 83.7 percent...had 32 defensive and 13 offensive boards...totaled 15 fouls but did not foul out...had 25 assists, six blocks and 10 steals...committed 22 turnovers...scored in double digits seven times, including each of his final six games...had two games over 20 points, including 23 points and season-high eight rebounds at Emporia State on Nov. 10...tallied a point in all nine games...also had a rebound in each game...scored 21 points with two assists and three rebounds in win over Waldorf College on Nov. 21...also scored 18 points against Southwest Minnesota State to help Cougars rally for a 91-85 decision at home to open NSIC season...had 16 points against Upper owa on Dec. 2 and 15 points vs. Winona State on Dec. 1..also had 14 points against Minnesota Crookston Nov. 18 and 12 against St. Cloud State on Dec. 8...five times had at least five rebounds, including eight twice...made a season-high 8-of-11 field goals against Waldorf on Nov. 21...recorded a season-high seven assists against Wisconsin-Superior on Nov. 14...made 10-of-10 free throws against Upper Iowa on Dec. 2...from West Texas A&M...

2016-17: Was a contributor on a 2016-17 team that finished 26-9...averaged 8.7 points and 4.5 rebounds while dishing out 40 assists, grabbing 76 rebounds and recording seven blocks.

2015-16: Was also part of West Texas A&M's 21-10 team in 2015-16 while averaging 9.7 points and 5.4 rebounds.

2014-15: Played one year at Madison Area Technical College (MATC), earning first-team North Central Community College All-Conference and first-team NJCAA All-Region IV honors...averaged 16 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a standout at Homestead High School, earning honorable mention all-league honors and competing in the 2014 Wisconsin High School all-star game.

PERSONAL: son of Fred and Danielle Maxson...has two siblings, Brandon and Amya...business administration - received degree in spring 2018.
