Biography

Career
A developing right-handed pitcher in the Cougar program, Derek Benson has continued building experience as part of the USF pitching staff while contributing to the team environment early in his collegiate career.

2026 (Redshirt Freshman)
Benson remained a member of the USF Baseball program, continuing his development within the Cougar pitching staff.

2025 (Freshman)
Began his collegiate career with the Cougars as a right-handed pitcher, gaining experience within the program during his first season.

High School
Benson graduated from Minnetonka High School, where he competed in both baseball and football for the Skippers. He earned A Honor Roll distinction and Student-Athlete Scholar recognition during his prep career. Benson also played club baseball with MacStrength.
