Watson pitched 90.2 career innings at NIACC, recording 91 strikeouts during his junior college career. He earned All-Region Honorable Mention honors as a freshman and was recognized twice on the All-Region Academic Team. Watson also received Third Team Academic All-America honors, highlighting his success both on the mound and in the classroom.

High School
Watson graduated from Lincoln High School, where he competed in baseball and hockey for the Patriots. During his senior season, he posted a 1.24 ERA with 74 strikeouts in 45 innings while limiting opponents to a .158 batting average and a .911 WHIP. A two-time state champion, Watson earned First Team All-State honors and was named his team's Cy Young Award winner. He also played summer baseball for Sioux Falls Post 15 East.

Watson is the son of Tom Watson and Natalie Kockelman and plans to major in Exercise Science at the University of Sioux Falls.
