Rob Hirrschoff is in his sixth year as an assistant coach for the USF Men’s Baseball team. He currently serves as the pitching coach for the Coo.

Rob Hirrschoff completed his fifth season as an assistant coach and pitching coach for the USF Baseball program in 2026, helping guide the Cougars to a 26-26 overall record. A former All-NCC standout pitcher, Hirrschoff utilized his extensive tactical experience to direct a pitching staff that tallied 371 strikeouts over 406 innings of work. Under his supervision, Jake Ammann secured a Chick-fil-A Athlete of the Month nod and Left-Handed Pitcher Brady Bauer captured an NSIC Pitcher of the Week honor. Hirrschoff's pitchers also helped anchor an elite academic year for the Cougars, which brought in nine NSIC Team of Excellence honors, 10 NSIC All-Academic selections, and a CorTrust Scholar-Athlete designation for Tyler Maeyaert.

Hirrschoff has experience both as a player and as a coach. He started his athletic career at South Dakota State University where he played for the Jackrabbits from 1997-2002 while earning All-North Central Conference honors in 2002.

From 2003-04, he served as a student assistant for SDSU Baseball. He also served as the Head Coach for the Brookings Legion Post 74 from 2005-2014. He directed the Brookings Legion team to a state title in 2012 which was a first for that program.

In 2014, Hirrschoff served as pitching coach for the Rochester Honkers of the Northwoods League. After a brief time away from the Legion team to run his own business, he took over as Head Coach/Coaching Director for Brookings Baseball in 2017.

Hirrschoff earned his bachelor’s in liberal studies from SDSU in 2002.
