Ryan Pruitt is in his third year as pitching coach for the University of Sioux Falls Baseball Team.
Pruitt was a member of the coaching staff for the 2017 team that finished 19-31, including 16-24 in the NSIC. He also coached the USF pitching staff in 2018 when USF was 15-31, including 15-21 in NSIC play.
During the summers of 2016 and 2017, Pruitt served as assistant coach for the Brandon Valley Legion program.
After three years at Regis University, Pruitt joined the staff at USF where he has handed the pitching staff. While at Regis, Pruitt was the team's pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for the previous three seasons and helped the program to 60 wins. While at Regis, Pruitt handled every aspect of the pitching from recruiting, strength and conditioning, pitch calling, and game management. Â

Originally from Glendale, Ariz., Pruitt was a 2006 graduate from Glendale Ironwood High School where he received all region honors and academic accolades. He is a childhood friend of Oakland A's star, Khris Davis.Â
Pruitt walked on at Phoenix College in 2009 in Arizona.  After one season at PC he transferred and played the remaining three years at Eastern New Mexico University and totaled 178 innings pitched in 63 games with 80 strikeouts, nine wins, and three saves during his career. During the summer leading into his senior year Pruitt pitched in the Horizon Air Summer Series Conference with the Oroville Pirates while leading the league in saves.
In 2013, he graduated from Eastern New Mexico with a Bachelor's degree in health and physical education and an emphasis in community physical education. He graduated cum laude with a 3.6 grade point average.
Pruitt also spent the 2014 summer coaching collegiately in the Lewis & Clark Baseball League in St. Louis. While there he was the pitching coach under former USF player and alum, Mark Vig, who was the head coach.Â
Pruitt and his wife, Crystal Koehler, a standout softball pitcher from 2007-2011 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, reside in Sioux Falls.
