Biography

Career
A veteran infielder with experience at multiple collegiate stops, Colin Gibson joined the Cougars after time at South Dakota State and Dakota County Technical College. Gibson earned NJCAA JBB First Team All-American honors at Dakota County Technical after a standout offensive campaign in which he hit .438 with 67 hits, 71 runs scored, 21 doubles, six triples, 10 home runs, and 53 RBI. In his first season with Sioux Falls, Gibson appeared in 14 games with 13 starts, contributing both offensively and defensively in the infield.

2026 (Senior)
Gibson appeared in 14 games with 13 starts for the Cougars, batting .182 with eight hits, three doubles, five RBI, and four runs scored. He added two stolen bases and drew three walks while contributing key early-season depth in the lineup. His top offensive outing came at Florida Tech, where he went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Defensively, Gibson posted a .921 fielding percentage with 11 putouts and 24 assists across 38 total chances.

Dakota County Technical College
Put together a dominant season at Dakota County Technical College, batting .438 with 67 hits in 153 at-bats while scoring 71 runs. He added 21 doubles, six triples, 10 home runs, and 53 RBI en route to NJCAA JBB First Team All-American honors.

High School
Gibson was a standout multi-sport athlete at Grinnell High School, competing in baseball, basketball, and football. On the diamond, he earned five All-Conference honors, five All-District selections, and three All-State honors while also being recognized as Academic All-State. Across his prep baseball career, Gibson compiled impressive offensive numbers, highlighted by a .437 batting average as a sophomore and 13 doubles in both his junior and senior seasons.

Personal
In his free time, Gibson enjoys hunting and fishing. He is the son of Patty and Jamey Gibson and has one sibling, Jayden.
