Biography

2017: Finished season with 10 tackles in nine games for No. 20 USF, which finished season 9-3 and ranked third nationally in total defense (244.3 ypg) and second in rushing defense (67.3 ypg) and scoring defense (12.5 ppg)....had five solo stops with one sack and two TFLs...blocked two kicks...had career high four tackles with TFL against Southwest Minnesota State on Sept. 30, 2017...recorded three tackles with sack at Upper Iowa on Nov. 4, 2017...blocked kicks against Concordia St. Paul on Oct. 14, 2017 and in 14-7 "Key to the City" win over Augustana on Oct. 28, 2017...named Academic All-NSIC.

2016: Played on offense against Winona State (10//15)...named Academic All-NSIC.

2015: Named to the Academic All-NSIC Team

2014: Redshirted

HIGH SCHOOL: Lined up at wide receiver, free safety, kick/punt returner and outside linebacker for Escola Pia Nostra Senyora HS...Pioneers were the 2013 Spanish League and Spanish Cup champions...named the squad's best wide receiver as a senior...member of the 2012 and 2013 Spanish world teams. 

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 18, 1993...son of Santiago Botella Torres and Lourdes Moreno Leal...media studies major.
