University of Sioux Falls Athletics

Austin Guptel is in his first season with the University of Sioux Falls Football Program where he will serve as an assistant coach of defensive backs.

Previously Guptel, a native of Coventry, Conn., served as a Defensive Quality Control Coach with the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Guptel is a 2017 graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Finance. He also served as a student assistant at Central Connecticut State in New Britain, Conn. He played at Benedictine (Ill.), where he was a defensive back for the Eagles.
 
Before moving into coaching, Guptel worked as a Statistics Analyst at ESPN for over two years. At ESPN, he worked on advanced analytics on both the NCAA and NFL.
