Cameron Ostrom, who made 32 career starts at linebacker before being sidelined for the season against Wayne State in 2015, is in his first season as an assistant coach for the USF nationally ranked football squad.
A three-year starter, Ostrom finished his career with 150 tackles, including 97 solo stops to go with 18 tackles for loss and four interceptions. Ostrom helped lead USF to a 35-11 record during his four years, including a 20-4 mark and two postseason berths in his final two seasons. In a 42-10 win over Central Oklahoma in the Mineral Water Bowl in December 2014, he had eight tackles and a sack.
During his career, he also had a pair of defensive scores, including an 88-yard score vs. Bemidji State (9/13/14) in 2014. Ostrom, an honorable mention All-NSIC pick in 2014, had 38 tackles (tied for 2nd on the team), 19 solo stops, 3.0 TFLs and an interception in 2015. He ranked second on the team with 77 tackles in 2014, finishing with 9.5 TFLs, four sacks, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a force fumble. Ostrum served as a team captain in 2015.
He is serving as a graduate assistant coach for the Cougars in 2016. A native of Buffalo, Wyo., he is married to Emily (Brooks) Ostrom.
